When I first started writing, one of the things I enjoyed most about the process was the ability to write about any topic of my choosing. During college, I wrote a weekly humor column for the campus newspaper and its content was forever changing. One week, I’d sarcastically review the movie “Titanic,” and the following week you’d find an 800+ word piece on bacon.
As I perused the Internet and began reading other people’s blogs, I noticed a rather common aspect of them: their writings were always neatly categorized (Wil Wheaton’s blog, found here, is a perfect example of this. Thus, I wanted to do the same for my own website, since the writings that appeared on past blogs of mine saw collective themes. While I see the pros of the traditional blogroll format (and, believe it or not, here on this BLOGGING webiste, the term “blogroll” is flagged as a misspelled word), I find that it can also be unnerving as well when one is seeking a specific piece. Thus, for the majority of fumor.net, I designed it so that each specific category was its own page, which each article getting its own page as well, for the simplest in navigation.
This page, however, is your traditional “blogroll” format, as I do not believe the entries on here necessitate their own pages. Also, I don’t find it necessary to make these entries, which are really just overly wordy streams of consciousness, easily navigable. In short, this page is a giant grab bag of my brain activity.
